Goodbye to old steel cylinders. The future has arrived to the world of compressed gas distribution at the hands of Carbotainer, thanks to its development and manufacture of a new cylinder produced from carbon fibre, with a 50 litre capacity.

On 5 June, Carbotainer filed its application for a European patent entitled ‘Lightened container for pressurised gases’. The patent is the result of many years of research by the Carbotainer team to provide a more lightweight, ergonomic and ecological solution for compressed gas distribution, a patent that was registered under number EP15382298.

The new cylinder has six characteristics that make it unique on the market:

More resistant and three times less heavy than current cylinders.

Manufactured from carbon fibre, it is a resistant yet surprisingly lightweight container, with an unlimited life that is easy to integrate into production.

Reliable:

The cylinders are submitted to strict quality tests, guaranteeing their resistance to impacts, cuts and even fire, and compliant with the highest quality standards and all legislation.

Versatile:

Smart:

By means of RFID chips, they can interact with different facilities and automate industrial processes.

Economical:

Quicker amortisation of investment. They optimise production and decrease transport costs, thus increasing the action radius of a bottling plant.
